Greenbridge designs and implements regenerative landscapes on urban and rural sites. We are specialists in holistic, organic and permaculture systems, including edible home gardens, ecological plantings, orchards and food forests, shelter-belts, woodlots, high value forestry and farm diversification.

We co-create an abundant, vibrant landscape ecology with you, your land’s kaitiaki (guardian).  We can help you integrate small animals like chooks, bees, ducks as well as larger livestock, develop supporting infrastructure, plan recycling systems to turn waste into nutrient resources and identify the best plantings for your individual site.

A range of packages for eco-garden, lifestyle block and farm-sized properties are available to meet your budget and give you the level of detail you need. We can also customise a package just for you.

ECO GARDENS

Urban and rural sites up to 1 acre (4000sqm)

We can show you the abundance that’s possible to grow in your backyard, whether you are newly arrived to Taranaki, a local creating their first garden or you need help revitalising an existing garden.  Our garden plan sets you up to grow abundant, nutrient-dense food (and will save you from costly, discouraging mistakes).

Growing your own food is the biggest impact a household can have to transform the wasteful and harmful industrialised food system, to a healthy and sustainable one.  An edible garden can provide organic food, natural medicines and increase mental wellbeing.  Shop less, drive less and slash your plastic packaging, all while eating fresher, healthier food.

There’s no one ‘right way’ to be a good food grower and it doesn’t happen overnight.  Greenbridge designs an edible or ecological garden that is specifically and creatively tailored to your needs and site.  You can move forward with confidence, because the growing methods we show are tried and tested and sit within the bigger framework of regenerative practice.  We offer varying levels of garden design depending on the amount of detail you require, your budget and how many garden options you wish to explore…

Greenbridge can also help you install your eco-garden

$1495 +GST Concept Design

This basic sketch service is great for those who know what they want and or have a limited budget.  We discuss ideas with you at your place and off the cuff and come up with a rough garden plan on the day for your feedback.  Then we go away and refine it a bit, but keep it hand drawn for expediency and to keep cost as small as possible for you.  The basic sketch plan is juicy and imparts key information, its not about pretty pictures or perfection but rather getting key information down on paper for you, so you can move forward with DYI confidence.  Fruit and nuts are described by type ie Apple, but you will need to make your own selection of varieties.  We will provide you with a range of info sheets relevant to your project.  Total time process, for the basic eco-garden design is 3-12 days depending on our schedule and your time frame.

An optional second concept can be added for $495

$3995 +GST Concept Design   +   $3995 +GST Developed Design

The sustainable eco-garden design is a step up from the sketch service, and is for people who would like more guidance from their ecological landscape designer. We spend more time assessing the site, researching and on idea generation, providing you with two concepts, so you can compare possibilities. This service also includes a base plan, observation map and sector analysis which shows the influences on your site. At the developed design end, we take your feedback, knit your ideas together, and you are presented with a final Master Plan and or Planting Plan, specific to your wants and needs. This plan includes additional detailing; fruit and nuts are specified by variety ie Apple Liberty on MM106 rootstock. You are provided with written strategies and recommendations. There is also complimentary one hour of mentoring included in this service.

$5995 +GST Concept Design   +  $5995 +GST Developed Design

The regenerative garden design is suited to people who want to ensure they choose the best solution for themselves and their site and would like to be led through the process.  You receive the same as the sustainable service plus its exciting to be able to be more thorough, with additional time spent in discussion and on research as well as three concepts generated, so you can confidently know that a wide range of possibilities have been explored (this maybe important with a larger site, difficult site or where development options are open).  A comprehensive site assessment is undertaken and we also include a solar map and written pros and cons of each concept.  At the developed design end, we take your feedback and knit your ideas together to create a Preliminary Plan where there is opportunity for you and your landscape designer to undertake any final tweaks.  You are then presented with a final Master Plan and a separate Planting Plan and Specification and where applicable details specific to your project such as water systems or 3-D drawings.  More in-depth Strategies and Recommendations are provided for implementation.  There is also complimentary two hours of mentoring included in this service.

Workshop style was cool and helped me, who has little experience with this sort of thing start to wrap my head around it all - and helped us get clear about what we doing in the future!

Kama, the concept master you assembled was a great encapsulation of stuff I was after but couldn’t articulate and really respects the environment we’re in – even giving it a boost. The discussions with you were excellent, fun and I felt you listened well and captured the feedback I provided. Your own precision and pushback on things that wouldn’t work was also great. No one wants ‘Yes men'.

So wonderful to be able to utilise your industry knowledge and expertise to make the best of our land. You gave us some things to think about which we may not have considered otherwise. We really love what you are doing and receiving and looking at Bena’s drawings!

LIFESTYLE BLOCKS

Rural sites up to 10 acres (4 Hectares)

Purchasing a lifestyle block is a big investment, in capital, ongoing development and also your time. Our broad-scale lifestyle block design helps you avoid the pitfalls, develop your property infrastructure with big picture thinking and explore sustainable approaches to a larger piece of land.  Skip the all-to-common lifestyle block ‘life sentence’ and instead create the regenerative lifestyle of your dreams.

We offer expert input if you are planning to regenerate the land, grow food (for your table or market), restore watersheds or undertake ecological plantings.  Both our ecological landscape designers have successfully developed permaculture lifestyle blocks.  Choose between our different options to suit the level of detail you want, how many options you wish to consider – and of course, your budget.

The basic lifestyle block plan is suited to those who would either like a bit of direction, desire to move quickly, and or are good at keeping to decisions.  Once you are ready to go ahead, your ecological landscape designer will meet with you and further define your brief, often they will also do a basic site assessment at this time too.  1-2 concepts will then be generated (depending on your budget and needs), usually hand drawn for expediency and to keep cost as small as possible for you.  You can stop there or continue to have the design developed into one Master Plan. The plan is juicy and imparts key information, such as location of infrastructure and plantings, fruit and nuts are described by type ie Apple, but you will need to make your own selection of varieties.  We will provide you with a range of info sheets relevant to your project.   The basic broad-scale plan not about pretty pictures or perfection but rather getting important information down on paper for you, so you can move forward with DYI confidence.  There is also one hour complimentary mentoring included in this service.

FARM DIVERSIFICATION

Farming as we know it is changing. As margins are squeezed through rising costs and outdated practices, farmers are having to think about how they can remain profitable into the future whilst transitioning to a low emissions economy.

Are you interested in:

  • Being a leader in improving water quality, solving climate change, and growing biodiversity?
  • Restoring the health of your land, and leaving it in great shape for future generations?
  • Improving your livestock health?
  • Diversifying your farming activities?
  • Reducing your on-farm expenses and increasing your profit?

If this is you, then you will benefit from our broard-scale farm designs which work in parallel with diversified pasture management. With you, we design and can also implement regenerative interventions and strategies, which are tailored to the needs of your site, soil, climate and agricultural practice.  There is a focus on ecosystem restoration, including soil health, carbon sequestration and planting native and productive trees.

Our farm designs are tailored to the needs of your site and your farming business and will:

  • Assess landuse, erosion, habitats, and topography.
  • Provide a broadscale farm design that will restore waterway health & water quality, make your farm carbon neutral, increase biodiversity and beauty, improve animal health & productivity and
  • identify profitable land use and diversification opportunities (if appropriate)

Alongside this, our partner business can work with you on grazing & pasture management that will:

  • grow your soil rapidly and sequester deep stable soil carbon;
  • increase your resilience to droughts & floods;
  • produce a higher quality product; and
  • increase farm profitability and your quality of life.

Greenbridge and Integrity Soils are teaming up to provide regenerative agriculture workshops for small groups of innovative farmers – please get in touch to find out more and when the next workshop is running…

In 2012, I approached Greenbridge for ideas on how to diversify our whānau dairy farm.  I decided to see how (regenerative) design could transform a small 180 cow dairy farm. Kama and Dan were awesome to work with and had some great ideas such as living fences, shelter belts with trees that had medicinal benefits for cattle, hemp cropping, stock exclusion zones to help clean waterways and growing high value trees on marginal land.  I have done a short course with greenbridge and then completed my full PDC with kama 2 years ago. I highly recommend greenbridge for all your (regenerative) design needs.
